01 — Overview

Making staking more accessible

Chromia is a Layer-1 blockchain platform designed to support scalable decentralized applications. Its staking platform lets CHR holders stake tokens, delegate to providers, earn rewards, and manage their assets.

Working with the cross-functional team, I redesigned the existing staking experience — from the first wallet connection through staking to asset management. The goal was a more intuitive, transparent experience that could keep up with the platform's evolving functionality.

02 — The challenge

From a developer-built interface to a user-centered product

The original staking platform worked, but it had been built without a dedicated product design process.

As Chromia's ecosystem expanded, the experience had to support more complex staking operations and make essential information easier to understand. We focused on simplifying the staking journey, improving the information hierarchy, and reducing friction around key interactions.

03 — The redesign

Simplifying the staking experience

Working closely with the product manager and development team, I redesigned the end-to-end staking experience around three areas:

Simplified user journeys

Restructuring staking flows to make essential actions easier to discover and complete.

Clearer information hierarchy

Improving the visibility of balances, staking information, and available actions.

A scalable interface

Creating consistent, responsive designs with clearly defined interface states.

04 — Outcome
+15%Reported growth in staking adoption

Following the launch, the platform recorded a reported 15% increase in staking participation, as part of Chromia's broader product and ecosystem development efforts.

The redesign delivered a clearer staking experience and established a foundation for the platform's continued evolution.

The figure refers to growth in the number of users participating in CHR staking. The baseline and measurement period aren't available, and the increase reflects Chromia's wider product and ecosystem work — not the redesign alone.
